Stuart P. Jasper is Of Counsel at Klatte, Budensiek & Young-Agriesti, LLP. Mr. Jasper is a trial lawyer. He brings over 30 years of employment, trade secret, franchise and business litigation experience to the firm. Mr. Jasper has been recognized by his peers for his exceptional trial skills; he is listed annually in “The Best Lawyers in America®.” Mr. Jasper has also been awarded the prestigious Harmon G. Scoville Award by the Orange County Bar Association. The Scoville award honors one lawyer every year whose career exemplifies the highest standards of the legal profession and who has championed our Constitutional system of justice.
Mr. Jasper has been active in the Orange County legal community. He has written articles for the Los Angeles Daily Journal, presented numerous lectures and programs on legal topics important to Orange County lawyers, and promoted legal ethics as a master in the Peter M. Elliot Inn of Court. He took a leadership role in the area of preemption of common law business torts by the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act. The development of this defense, which can result in the early dismissal of a variety of claims, can save attorneys’ fees and potential awards. Mr. Jasper has promoted a close relationship between the local bench and bar. He has served on and was chair of the Orange County Bar Association’s Judiciary Committee.
Before joining the firm Mr. Jasper was with Jasper & Jasper, P.C., which he founded with his wife Catherine Jasper. Prior to entering private practice Mr. Jasper was an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. Mr. Jasper was a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.
