Ana Thomas is a partner at Klatte, Budensiek & Young-Agriesti, LLP. Her practice involves partnering closely with employers to represent them in all areas of employment law, including harassment, workplace discrimination, terminations, employment agreements, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, trade secrets, unfair competition, accommodating disabilities, and employment policies and procedures.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Thomas gained valuable experience as an Associate at the firm of Grant, Genovese & Baratta, LLP, in Irvine, California. In that capacity, she counseled and represented clients in dozens of cases ranging from breach of contract, fraud, negligent/intentional misrepresentation, tortious interference with contract and/or prospective economic advantage, bad faith, negligence, premises liability, legal and medical malpractice, construction defect, and Unruh Civil Rights Act claims. Born in Santiago, Chile, Ms. Thomas is fluent in Spanish.
Ms. Thomas earned her Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Criminology, Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, where she graduated in the top 15% of her class. While at Loyola Law School, she participated in the Juvenile Justice Clinic where she represented juveniles in court proceedings, including trial, disposition and post-disposition hearings. She successfully negotiated plea bargains with prosecutors, resulting in a reduction of sentencing and charges. She also drafted appellate briefs, motions and discovery requests.
